Where are you usually on Tuesday morning between 10 and 10.30am?
There is a communion service in St Thomas Church at this time every Tuesday morning. It is short, with no hymns, and we follow the Book of Common Prayer order of service. A small (and getting smaller) number attend this service, which is a real pity. The death of one ‘regular’ earlier this year has reduced numbers.
If the service is to continue we do need more to attend. The service is quiet and informal. Those who do attend are friendly.
I think it is important that we have a weekday service, both for those who want something different to the Sunday morning worship and as an opportunity for anyone who can’t attend on a particular Sunday to have communion that week. It is important too that we continue to use the Book of Common Prayer, the traditional language may not be practical for our main parish services, but it is beautiful. So, if you are sometimes free on a Tuesday morning we’d love to see you there!
