Social & Fundraising

In Leesfield Parish we have an extremely active social calendar, where people of all ages join together for companionship and to raise funds for our own churches and other charities.
Everyone is welcome to join us at any of these events, and you can be assured of a warm welcome.

Details of forthcoming and previous events can be found below on this page, or by viewing our calendar

Ladies of Leesfield

The Ladies of Leesfield hold regular monthly meetings on a Thursday evening at 7.30. These meetings always have a topic, and there are often guest speakers. They are held in the Community Room at St. Thomas’ Church.

Some of our Ladies
Coffee mornings at the homes of the members are also held monthly on Saturday mornings, and during the summer months Tea and Toast are served in St. Thomas’ Church. Occasional coach trips are arranged to places of interest, and all are welcome to come along.

Ladies of Leesfield meetings and events are included in our Parish Calendar by clicking here calendar

If any Ladies feel that they would like to know more about our group, please come along to a meeting and see if it would suit you. Then if you like it, you could come along permanently. We are a group of Christian Ladies who meet for companionship, friendship and hopefully - FUN.

Our programme is published in the church magazine and the topics are varied.

Although we usually start with a prayer, we are not a prayer group. We have guest speakers, quiz nights (just fun - not Mastermind), and coffee evenings. Please don’t be shy - just ask one of our ladies in church or just turn up. You will be made most welcome.

meet at St Thomas' Church at 6 pm

You don't have to be a church member to come along, and it really doesn't matter if you're not a very good singer. Everybody is most welcome to join us, especially accompanied children because they always get the biggest donations!

Even if the weather's really bad, please still come along - we'll sing at the Co-op instead.

Explore St Thomas' Church

Saturday 27th May, 10.30 am to 1 pm

St Thomas' Church will be open on Saturday 27th May to allow people to explore the rich heritage and symbolism of our wonderful church building, using the recently published Guide book.

The event is open to all, members of the local community who may have wondered what the inside of the church is like, visitors from further afield, and of course our own congregation members who may have been attending church for many years without ever having the opportunity to really look at all the historic detail.

We welcome visitors with limited mobility. There are a few shallow steps to access the building, but we have movable ramps and will provide assistance as required. Once inside the building most of it is accessible with help, with the exception of the tower, ringing room and gallery, but lots of photos of these areas are available. There is also an accessible WC.

Light refreshments will be available, and there will be knowledgeable people on hand to guide you around the church and answer any questions which you may have.

The guide book is on sale at £2.50 per copy, but don't worry if you are unable to or prefer not to purchase one, someone will gladly show you around.

Many thanks to all who collected, donated and otherwise helped with this year's Christian Aid Week effort.

We raised £613.28 in total, £273.28 from house to house collections, £140 from donations received in both churches, and £200 from the Big Brekkie. Well done everybody!

Good luck for the next 12 months to Emilia and her retinue and all mums, dad's and grandparents.
