News update 24th November

News update 24th November 2019

Our next Choir practice will be at 7 pm on Monday 25th November at St Thomas’. Everyone from both churches is really welcome to come and join us as we practice our Advent Hymns and Christmas Carols. You don’t have to sit in the choir stalls or wear the robes if you prefer not to – it’s also a big help if people sitting in the pews know how the tune goes!

The Posada figures are now ready to begin their Advent journey, so please add your details to the list if you would like to welcome Mary and Joseph into your homes.

"Worship for all Generations” services continue at 6.30 pm every Thursday at St Thomas’. These Thursday services are additional (and different) to our Sunday Eucharists and Sunday Schools, so it's great if you can come along to both. However, if Sunday's your day for playing footie or visiting your nan, you'll still get your schools attendance mark for coming to the Thursday service (but only 1 mark each week)

On Saturday 30th November St John, Hey are hosting a morning with Bishop Mark. The theme for the morning is "Advent Companions for the Journey", and the aim is to encourage people in their discipleship from Monday to Saturday, not just on Sunday. All are welcome to come along and listen to Bishop Mark's inspirational talk. Please let Edith or Liz D know if you're coming - nobody will be turned away but it will be a big help with planning if St John's know how many people to expect.

The PCC meets on Monday 2nd December, 7 pm at St Thomas'.

Advance notices -

Dressing the Christmas Trees at St Thomas' will start from 10.30 am on Saturday 7th December, and the Christmas Tree Festival will be open to the public from 2 pm.

Our Christingle Service will be at St Thomas' Church, 3 pm on Sunday 8th December.
