Newsletter 1st September

News & Dates – 1st September 2019

Welcome back! Hope everybody’s had a great summer break. St Agnes’ services are now back to normal after the summer building work.

Well done to everybody who took part in this year’s Boundary Walk – here’s a picture of some of us. The weather was ideal for walking, and 12 people altogether were involved. If there is any more sponsor money to come in please could you let us have it by the 15th September so we can let everyone know how much we raised for church funds.

Parish meetings start with Standing Committee, 7 pm on Monday 2nd September at the Vicarage, with St Thomas’ DCC and St Agnes’ Open Forum during the week commencing 16th September.

The next Ladies of Leesfield Coffee Morning is on Saturday 7th September, 10.30 am at Liz Bentley’s home.

St Agnes’ Rose Queen Freya and her retinue (and their families) have plenty of fundraising events planned.

Before the holidays the children were each given a tube of Smarties. We hope you enjoyed them, and that you will fill the tubes with as many 20 pence pieces as you can for Rose Queen fundraising.

After the St Agnes’ service on Sunday 8th September we have Sausage Sunday. Please do stay after the service and enjoy a delicious sausage butty and a brew for just £2.

Then on Thursday 12th September at 7.30 pm there will be a Fashion Show in St Agnes’ school hall (see picture for more details). Tickets are now available from the Rose Queen and retinue mums.

Sunday the 15th September is Sunday School Prizegiving Day, and the all-age services will be at the usual times at both churches.

The deadline for the next issue of “Voice” magazine is Sunday 15th September, and we’re looking forward to reading your summer news. Material can be handed in at church or emailed to Paul (paulmdent@gmail.com)

Items for the newsletter, website and facebook pages to Liz (lizzy.dent@googlemail.com) whenever you want to send. Lots of lovely pictures please!
