Sunday services are well-attended, and the Eucharist is celebrated every week. Due to our strong links to the school we have a large number of young families attending, and there is also a faithful and long-serving core of slightly more mature worshippers.
Throughout the Church year
services are adapted to reflect the season, and on days such as Mothering
Sunday and Harvest Festival we hold all-age services so that the children can
be in

Our Tuesday morning services are held in the small St. James’ Chapel within St. Thomas’ Church, and follow the Book of Common Prayer.

Sunday School
Please come along and join us at St. Thomas’ Leesfield Sunday School. We are a friendly bunch who welcome all children from birth to Year 6. We have an amazing and dedicated team of Sunday School helpers who are happy to get stuck in and encourage the children in their learning. There are songs, stories, crafts, quizzes, games and activities which we start in the school hall immediately after the first hymn in church. Sunday School lasts for about 40 – 50 minutes then we return to church to take Communion and be blessed and join the congregation singing the final hymn. A normal Church service usually finishes about 12.15am.
The older children enjoy reading
during a service and at an all age service the younger ones are also encouraged
to take part, including singing and leading prayers.
We enjoy special events together such
as Whit Walk, Sunday School Nativity on Christmas Eve, Easter Egg Hunt and our
Parish Sponsored Walk.
Children should be signed in using
the book at the back of church at 10.55am to ensure an orderly start to the service
at 11am. Signing in your child is very
important for Health & Safety reasons, so that we know who is here in case
of a fire and so that we have a record of your child’s attendance for your
future reference.
Please note that the admissions
criteria for the local C of E Primary and Secondary schools include parental
attendance at Church in addition to children’s attendance at Sunday School.

Harvest Queen/King
Each year a Harvest Queen/King and
her/his retinue are chosen from our Sunday School children based mainly on
their attendance. The Queen/King is
crowned shortly before the Harvest festival service and attends various
services and social functions within the Community throughout the year. Whilst the emphasis is on
family social gatherings with other local Churches, there is also an important
fundraising aspect.
At the end of September 2017 our new Harvest Queen Ella was crowned at a lovely service in St Thomas' Church, followed by refreshments and fundraising stalls in the school hall.
Lots of exciting events are being planned for the coming year, and we wish Ella and her retinue all the best for her year.
Harvest Queen Molly Mae was crowned in October 2016 and is looking forward to a year full of exciting events.

Ladies of Leesfield
The Ladies of Leesfield hold
regular monthly meetings on a Thursday evening at 7.30. These meetings always
have a topic, and there are often guest speakers. They are held in the new Community Room at
St. Thomas’ Church.
Coffee mornings at the homes of the members
are also held monthly on Saturday mornings, and during the summer months Tea
and Toast are served in St. Thomas’ Church. Occasional coach trips are arranged
to places of interest, and all are welcome to come along.
For further details e-mail Audrey
at aatkinsons@yahoo.com Ladies of Leesfield meetings and events are included
in our Parish Calendar by clicking here
If any Ladies feel that they would like to know more about our group,
please come along to a meeting and see if it would suit you. Then if you like
it, you could come along permanently. We are a group of Christian Ladies who
meet for companionship, friendship and hopefully - FUN.
Our programme is published in the church magazine and the topics are
varied.
Although we usually start with a prayer, we are not a prayer group. We
have guest speakers, quiz nights (just fun - not Mastermind), and coffee
evenings. Please don’t be shy - just ask one of our ladies in church or just
turn up. You will be made most welcome.

Scout Camp
On the 3rd of
February 2017 I went to Bowley Scout camp. It was probably the most memorable
camp I've ever been to as I was invested into scouts at the top of Jacobs
ladder.
I have loved cubs
but I couldn't wait to take on some new challenges in scouts, like knife and
axe training, the leap of faith, crossbows and even going on a 4 mile night
hike to the chip shop and back. It was great getting to know the other scouts
too.
