It has been a very busy
term. Thanks are due to so many people for the part they have played in all
that has gone on, especially to those who have worked behind the scenes.
Perhaps we should all just give ourselves a pat on the back and enjoy the
quieter month that is August!
Next week is our Parish Confirmation service at St Thomas 11am. Bishop Mark will be the presiding
Bishop. This is very much a parish event.
There will be no service at St Agnes this day. Please come along and make this
a real parish celebration as another group of adults and children take this
next step on their Christian journey. Meanwhile do pray for those
preparing for confirmation.
Wednesday 20th July
Confirmation rehearsal at St
Thomas 7pm. It is very important that everyone involved – candidates and those
assisting- attend!
Thursday July 21st Joint coffee evening (J Daubney & M Bethel) at 27 The Sycamores
7.30pm. Lifts available.
Saturday July 23rd Tea
and Toast in St Thomas’ Church 10.30am. Everyone is welcome! Come along, and bring a friend. Now we have
our new facilities we hope this will become a bigger social event than has been
possible in the past. So come along and get this off to a good start.
Also next Saturday, we need
helpers to clear St Agnes church in
preparation for the new carpet being laid on Monday 25th. If you can
help please go along at 9am. And of course people are needed the next Saturday,
the 30th, to return the furniture to church ready for the service on
Sunday. Many hands make light work!
Maybe you could help at St
Agnes and then go to St Thomas for tea and toast!
Community Room Anyone wishing to book the
community room at St Thomas should contact Audrey Atkinson (652 2987) She is in
charge of bookings so we don’t double book.
Supplementary forms – I am already getting
enquiries about Bluecoat or Crompton House forms that need signing. I will
discuss each one with the warden and Sunday School leader (who have the
attendance records) in meetings at the beginning of October. If you have one of
these to be signed please let me have it by Sunday October 2nd, and
it will be signed and returned to you well before the submission date.
