Leesfield Parish April 24th 2016

APCM takes place straight after this morning’s service at St Thomas. This is an important meeting open to everyone. Come along, listen, ask questions, vote (if you are on the electoral roll)!

Exploring Prayer  Wednesday 7.30pm in the Vicarage.

Confirmation preparation sessions will begin on May 11th (adults and children) If you are thinking about confirmation this year please give your name to Ruth or Edith. There is an information sheet with all the dates – ask Ruth or Edith for one of these.

Rose queen elect Bethany Jones will be crowned Rose Queen for2016-7 on Saturday 7th May at 2pm. Please come along and join in the fun and wish her success in her forthcoming role. Family tickets are only £2 with a chance to win £50.
Stalls, refreshments and activities will be available after the service and we will see the return of the 'stocks' with a chance to throw wet sponges at Sunday School leader Laura Lees and St Agnes Chair of Governors Chris Cartwright. Not to be missed !!

To celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday, an Afternoon Tea is being held at Lees Library from 2pm until 4pm on Saturday, 11th June, 2016. Lees Band will be attending and playing patriotic songs and the event will include a celebratory toast to the Queen and Birthday Cake!!  The Fundraising Group are asking for donations of raffle prizes.  A list has also been put up at the back of Church, please add your name if you are able to make something for the buffet.  Tickets are on sale now from Audrey or Jenny and the cost is £5 per adult and £2.50 for children.  All proceeds will be given to the Development Fund and ticket sales will be match funded by Barclay's Bank, so please buy your tickets as soon as possible."

Tickets are now on sale for the Big Band Gala Night on the 2nd July. £10 adults, £5 children (although probably only suitable for older children}, includes buffet supper. From the 20th April any tickets remaining will be made available through "Churches Together", and later to the general public, so to avoid disappointment it's best to buy your tickets early. There will only be 120 tickets in total because of the seating capacity at St. Edward's Hall, so if you are unable to come because of other commitments please don't buy a ticket as we would love to have a "full house" on the night. However, if you wish to support the event in another way, donations of cash or raffle prizes will be gratefully received.
