Newsletter 13th October

Newsletter – 13th  October 2019

Today is “Sausage Sunday” at St Agnes’, so please do stay and enjoy a sausage butty with your cuppa after the service. Sausage butties cost £2 each, and the proceeds go towards Rose Queen Freya’s fundraising for church.

Also today is the first week when we will be asking everybody to complete the “Income Survey Forms”. Each year the Diocese calculates the amount which it requires from each parish for the Parish Share, based on the number of people attending our services and the confidential Income Surveys. It’s really important that everyone completes a form, especially if your own personal income is quite low, so please do fill in a form and place it in the box at the back of church.

At 7.30 pm on Wednesday 16th October at Springhead Congregational Church, Churches Together have their Open  Meeting, to which everyone is invited and we plan our joint services and events.

One of these joint services will take place at 3 pm next Sunday (20th October) at St John’s Church, Hey - Churches Together Songs of Praise. Members of all the churches have chosen some of their favourite hymns, which we will sing together and learn a bit more about, so do come along and have a good sing.

This week’s “Worship for all Generations” at 6.30 pm on Thursday at St Thomas’ is the second of a series of four focusing on miracles. This week’s theme is “Jesus walks on the water”. The services are non-Eucharistic and last just over half an hour, so if you haven’t been to one yet why not give it a go?

After the Thursday service at 7.30 pm in the Community Room, the Ladies of Leesfield invite you to join in their Fun Games Night, and then on Saturday morning from 10.30 am to 12 noon they have Tea & Toast. All are welcome at the Ladies’ events, so please feel free to bring a friend.

Harvest Queen Annie and her retinue are really looking forward to their first fundraising event of the year, an Afternoon Tea in the school hall at 1 pm next Sunday 20th October. Tickets cost £8 per adult, £5 per child and are available now from Karen or the retinue mums. There will also be tombolas and a raffle.

Items for the newsletter, website and facebook pages to Liz (lizzy.dent@googlemail.com) whenever you want to send. Lots of lovely pictures please!
