Leesfield Parish – 5th November 2017

Our service for All Souls is this afternoon, 3pm at St Thomas' Church. This is a quiet and peaceful service where we remember those who were dear to us whom we see no more and light a candle for them. Before the service there will be a list at the back of church on which you can add the names of those you would like to remember, and those names will be read out during the service.
The Bible Study group will meet on Monday 20th November at 1.30 pm. Frank and lively discussions about Scripture and our walk with God. Each Study stands alone...so it doesn't matter if you have missed a few weeks. Please do be encouraged to come along.

Next Sunday, 12th November is Remembrance Sunday
There will be a short Parish Service at 9.15 am at St Thomas’, after which we join with the Royal British Legion and fellow churches in Lees in a procession to Lees Cemetery for an Act of Remembrance. There is no service at St Agnes’ on this day.

The following Sunday, 19th November, we celebrate St Hugh’s Day with a Parish Service at 11 am in St Hugh’s school. No services at St Thomas’ or St Agnes’ today.

Ladies of Leesfield – There are still a few places left on the Parish trip to Chester Christmas Markets, which leaves Burton St at 9am on Saturday 18th November, returning at 4.30pm. Tickets cost £14 each, see Audrey or Roy for details.

St Thomas’ church is open regularly on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, so people can drop in, look around, pray or just sit. For this to happen, we need volunteers to sit in church. Can you spare an hour now and again? See Lesley or sign the list please. We have had a few visitors recently, including some all the way from the USA, and it was great that there was somebody in church to welcome them.

Items for the newsletter, website and facebook pages to Liz lizzy.dent@googlemail.com whenever you want to send. Lots of lovely pictures please!

The deadline for any remaining items for the next edition of “Voice” magazine is Sunday 12th November. Please send your articles to Paul paulmdent@gmail.com
