Leesfield Parish July 16th 2017
It’s the last week of term for our schools!
Leavers services:-
St Agnes’ – Wednesday 7pm
St Thomas’ – Thursday 1.15pm
We wish the Year 6
leavers from St Thomas’, St Agnes’ and St Hugh all the best as they move to
their new schools in September.
There is still a lot
happening in the Parish during the holidays, so there will be a newsletter
at the end of July to keep you up-to-date, and a further one just before the
schools go back.
Sunday and Tuesday services will
continue as usual. There will be no Sunday School at St Thomas’,
but children are most welcome to join us at our services. St Agnes’ Sunday
School carries on, with a more informal “Holiday Club” style.
Bible Study is still taking place on
some Mondays at 1.30pm in the holidays (24th
and 31st July, and 14th August). Frank and lively
discussions about Scripture and our walk with God. Each Study stands alone...so
it doesn't matter if you have missed a few weeks. Do be encouraged to come
along! It’s not every week in the holidays so please keep the dates list
handy.
Oldham
Play Action Group are running activity sessions for Primary
School age children in St Thomas’ Community Room every Thursday 1-3pm in the holidays. There will be arts & crafts, and
indoor and outdoor play. The sessions are free of charge and open to all, but
children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are needed to help
with the activities.
Tea and
Toast – Please join the Ladies of
Leesfield for Tea & Toast at St
Thomas’ on Saturday 22nd July at 10.30am. Cost £3 including
raffle.
This
year's Boundary Walk is on Saturday 12th August.
Although some families may be away, many will not, so if you're looking for
something a bit different to fill a Saturday why not come along and join us? Sponsor
forms now available.
St Thomas church
is open regularly on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, so people can drop in,
look around, pray or just sit. For this to happen, we need volunteers to sit in
church (Could be in the back room!) Can you spare an hour now and again? See
Edith or sign the list please.
