Tuesday 28th  Lent Lunchtime session , Zion Methodist Church. 12 noon start. All welcome.

New Magazine available today 80p. There is a separate pile for those who have paid for the year. Please tick off your name when you take yours. New subscribers can pay £4 to secure their copy for the year. Paying annually is a great help as we can’t afford to order more than we are sure of selling!

Avalon Park (Dove St) are having coffee mornings on the last Tuesday of the month 10am till noon. The first will be this Tuesday. All Welcome

Liz Dent’s latest publication –a Guide to St Thomas’ Church is now available(£2.50).  This is a very interesting guide to what is in the church. We plan an open morning in May when you can come along and explore our church with the book as a guide.

We hope to have St Thomas church open regularly on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, so people can drop in, look around, pray or just sit. For this to happen, we need volunteers to sit in church (Could be in the back room !) Can you help with this? Can you spare an hour now and again? See Edith or sign the list please.

Confirmation. Now is a good time for adults who have not been confirmed and children in Year 6 or above to think about Confirmation. Classes will begin soon after Easter in preparation for the Confirmation service on Sunday July 9^th. More details later, but if you are interested please give your name to Edith.

Annual Church Meeting is onApril 23^rd, following a parish service at St Thomas. At this meeting we elect Wardens and PCC members. Could you please begin to think about your role in the life of our church with this in mind. If you live in our parish (or attend regularly) and are 16 or over you should be on the Electoral roll. If you aren’t please complete a simple form.

Donations towards the flowers for Easter at St Thomas would be gratefully received by Audrey or Lesley. At St Agnes please volunteer to provide flowers by adding their names to the list

Leesfield Parish March 12th 2017

Today we welcome back to St Thomas Audrey and Ronald Vickers, who were married here   50 years ago. They are visiting today, with their family, from Blackpool where they now live.

PCC meets Monday (13^th) at St Thomas at 7pm. Please will all members do their best to attend – and read the paperwork beforehand so the meeting can be effective. There will be an opportunity to buy a copy of the new guide to St Thomas’s church ahead of next Saturday’s official launch!

Tuesday 14^th  Lent Lunchtime session , 12 noon start at Zion Methodist Church.

The art/discussion is followed by a simple soup and roll lunch. All are welcome! Poster and invitations at the back of church Next week’s session will be at Springhead Congregational

Wednesday 15^th Open meeting of Churches Together at 7.30 in St Thomas’. Do come along and help make this a real get together of Christians in this area.

Saturday 18^th Tea and Toast at St Thomas’ 10.30am. This will also be the first opportunity to buy a copy of Liz Dent’s latest publication –a Guide to St Thomas’ Church (£2.50) This is a very interesting guide to what is in the church. Leesfield Parish March 5th 2017

DCC meetings will be held this week. These are open meetings, all adults in the congregation are invited to attend and join in the discussions about their church. Do come along, listen and have your say.

St Thomas DCC Monday (6^th) at 7pm

St Agnes DCC Wednesday (8^th) at 8pm               Note PCC meets Monday next week.

Churches Together are holding our now traditional Lent lunchtime sessions again this year. The theme is the Passion in Art. Tuesdays in Lent, 12 noon start at Zion Methodist Church.

March 7^th will be the first session. The art/discussion is followed by a simple soup and roll lunch. All are welcome! Poster and invitations at the back of church.

Is there anyone willing to take over putting together the newsletters? It isn’t a big job, just using information given to update the newsletter and dates each week and e mail them round. Karen prints a few copies once a month for each church. If you might be interested please talk to Edith.

Please keep sending Paul material for the next magazine. The first of the new look issues is virtually sold out. The quality of the content is down to lots of people contributing to it. Many people now pay annually for the magazine (£5) which is helpful in assessing how many we have printed.

Leesfield Parish February 26th 2017

A huge thank you to those who have done so much to help put St Thomas’ straight again following our latest break in (Roy, Lesley and Russ in particular) We are working on omproving security, and are pleased that this time forensic evidence was collected!

Ash Wednesday is this Wednesday. Service at St Thomas 7.30pm. Come along and get Lent off to a good start. Ladies of Leesfield AGM follows the service .

If you are thnking of doing something extra for Lent (so much more positive than giving something up!) remember we do have a weekday service  -10am on Tuesdays at St Thomas’. This is followed by a cuppa and a chat in the warm community room.

Exploring Prayer session tomorrow, Monday (27^th  ) at 7pm in St Thomas Community room.

It is very good to have many different people doing the intercessions in our churches, including our year 6 young people. To help and encourage I plan to lead a session on this at St Agnes Church on Tuesday (28^th)  at 7pm. This will last no more than an hour. Attending does not commit you to leading the intercessions! Those who already lead intercessions are very welcome too… come and share your experience/expertise.
