Leesfield Parish September 4th 2016

Next Sunday, 11th September will be Sunday School prizegiving at both churches. The service will in each church be All Age.

As part of the National Heritage Week, St Thomas' Church will be open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday 10th September, including tours of the bellringing chamber from 10 to 12. Please come along if you are interested. It is a Tea and Toast morning too!

Tea and Toast is September 10th not 17th as originally planned.

This year's Sponsored Leesfield Parish Boundary Walk is on Saturday 17th September, starting at 10 am from Grotton Park at the end of Station Road. Sponsor forms are now available. Please see Liz or Paul or telephone 0161 627 4515 for further information. It would be lovely to have lots of walkers again this year, and we will need checkpoint marshals as well. If you aren't able to join us please support the event by sponsoring a walker
If you don’t have a copy of Liz’s book –Mud and Friendship- yet this might be a good time to get one as it has the map in it as well as lots of interesting information.

A reminder – Sunday School begins at St Agnes at 9.10am. To be marked as present (for the purpose of school) children should be there by that time. Similarly, to be marked present, children should be in St Thomas Church before the service begins at 11am.

Harvest Sunday is October 2nd. There will be a Parish Service at St Thomas 11am. No service at St Agnes that day. This will be followed by Harvest Lunch in church. This is a ticket only event (because we need to know numbers in advance for catering). Adults £5 Children up to 11 years £2.50

Bonus Ball is continuing – though we are looking at some changes –watch this space. If you would like to join please have a word with Susan Harrop or Roy Atkinson.

Tuesday morning Holy Communion service at St Thomas at 10am. This is a short (30mins) service without hymns. It would be good to involve more people. If you are around at that time why not drop in and give it a try? And stay for a cuppa afterwards too !

Community Room  Anyone wishing to book the community room at St Thomas should contact Audrey Atkinson (652 2987) She is in charge of bookings so we don’t double book.

Supplementary forms – should be given to Edith by October 2nd for completion. They will be signed and returned to you soon afterwards.

Christmas Stall will begin 23rd October at St Thomas.
